One good idea is to calculate the amount of money that you will have to spend on damages to your home if your basement floods and then factor that against the cost of a new, upgraded basement pump system. This is because, it is far better to invest the money in a reliable sump pump system that have to throw your money away on needless repairs that could have been easily avoided.
